So yesterday was absolutely beautiful. It was warm and there was sunshine. Lee and I spent the early afternoon playing frisbee in the park down by the lake. Then we decided that we could not let the day go to waste and we were going to have a cookout. I sent out the text message to all of our RD friends and told them that we were busting out the grill in two hours and they needed to come over. Everyone responded that they would come. It's so great to have such spontaneous friends! In two hours time we had chicken and hamburgers going on the grill, the cornhole boards out, and everyone excited to be outside. After the bbq chicken, caesar salad, and mashed potatoes.....we had THREE amazing desserts. So we planned a course of action and began with small portions of peach cobbler and vanilla icecream. We then played a game of cornhole. After a little more conversation and activity we dished up the Samoa's Icecream (like the girl scout cookie). Another couple games of cornhole. Too full for any more food we ended up having to divvy up the pistachio pudding with oreo crust (we call it nut pudding) to take home/save for later. It was a great way to spend the sunday afternoon/evening. Here are some pictures of the fun.
And now for the main event. CORNHOLE.
