Yesterday Lee and I celebrated our two year anniversary. We both had to work in the morning but looked forward to an afternoon/evening together. Lee got home around 1:30 and we quickly called our most favorite restaurant Cerulean for takeout sushi for lunch. It's pretty much the best thing ever. We get the spicy tuna rolls, edamame, and various other delicious sides. We picked it up and went to the park to eat while sitting and watching the lake. It was perfect. We then went home and hung out for a bit before heading to Fort Wayne for the evening. There was no real agenda we just went along enjoying the evening and talking about the year in review. We first went to Dicks Sporting Goods (what's an anniversary without sporting goods?) to obtain a new mouth piece for Lee's Camelback (its a water bottle back pack type thing) because Toby ate it. From there we began shopping. Lee desperately needed some new khaki shorts. Those who know Lee can imagine... he's a "particular" shopper. These shorts are too short, these shorts are the wrong color, these had pockets too big, these pockets too little, these pockets with flaps, these have a weird seam, etc. After much looking and debating we found ourselves in Abercrombie. We might as well have had canes, walkers, and gray hair. The kids working there quickly reminded us that our teen/college years are long long long gone. But Lee did end up succeeding in finding a pair of shorts there. So we headed to the Gap to find a polo to go with them. Success. I had already purchased my new outfit earlier in the day so we were set. After a tedious shopping trip we headed to the Olive Garden (we had a gift card) for dinner. We stuffed ourselves with salad, breadsticks, peach tea, and some delicious pasta and chicken. We ended the evening at Ritters for butter pecan custard and officially decided that we wouldn't eat the next day to compensate for our over indulgence.
Lee and I decided last year to start a journal that we would write in each anniversary. We log highlights of the year in review as well as to document what we did to celebrate the anniversary. We write what things we are thankful for, what things we've learned over the course of the year, our goals for the upcoming year and the future years, and things that we'd like to remember. It was fun to look back at what we'd written last year and sparked conversation about what we'd written and reflection on year 2. I think it is something that will be fun to have over the years to see the events that were most memorable each year, how our goals change, and be reminded of things we were thankful for.
Lee got me a Willow Tree figurine which was pretty adorable. My gift to him was not quite as romantic but new cornhole bags ARE exciting. All in all a great day. His and hers outfits, sushi lunch, dinner, and icecream. Since we used gift money we ended up only spending 25 bucks on the whole day. You can't beat that! Factor in the gas to get to Fort Wayne and it's not quite as impressive...but still thank you to all who love us, support us, and are so generous.
I am so thankful to be married to my best friend.

I think I bought Lee new cornhole bags for his birthday last year. Popular present, I guess. :)
