Visit from Ma Mere

My mother headed out on Wednesday night to accompany me on a shopping trip to IKEA. We left early this morning excited to purchase things for my office at school. I was in need of some chairs, a rug, lamps, and any cool accessories we might find. As with any trip to IKEA there is so much one could buy if only money were not an issue! We had a blast. We pulled in and thought.......there isn't any one here. I consulted my print offs and they confirmed that they opened at 10. Turns out we were running on Indiana time not Chicago time and were an hour early! Luckily they let you browse the show room early....so we perused for a bit and then headed to Panera for food before the big shopping spree began. I found everything I needed and cannot wait to get my office all situated. We loaded up the Jeep and headed for home.

As usual Lee had to work until 8:30 so mom and I took the waverunner out on our own. She really wanted to ride and I was more than willing to show off my skills. The ol' girl didn't quite start up like a dream and in the midst of trying to get us back towards the pier we tipped over. Turns out she isn't quite as stable with two bodies as she is with one. But we laughed (a lot), were thankful no one saw.......and then got her running. It was a lot of fun. We cruised around Winona for a bit and cooled off after a long day of shopping. Here are a few shots from the excursion.........isn't my mom cute? She was fearless when tied to the dock.

But quite brave in the water as well.

So much fun!!!! We talked a lot, laughed a lot, and caught up. The time just goes so fast when we get to see each other and the time in between is too long. I'm so thankful for my mom. She's real funny and pretty stinking cool.

I was so jealous today at work, knowing you both were playing without me! Glad you had so much fun!
