My mother, bless her heart, got Lee and I a fabulous 6 month anniversary present. She made reservations in an adorable cottage on a ski resort near our house. Unfortunately due to the warm weather the skiing was not worth the cost. It was a treat to spend some time together relaxing especially after all of the multiple Christmas festivities. We watched some of Season 2 of Grey's Anatomy, and enjoyed being in a romantic atmosphere.

Then we spent the rest of the week out in the Wagner Woodshop making our own set of cornhole boards. We went all out! We made one board Ohio State (me) and one board Notre Dame (Lee). After labor intensive hours of painting and being perfectionistic they turned out exceptionally well. I mean we used the offical team paint color!
It was fun. The whole family participated in making them, and those who were not working played Air Hockey or babysat the puppy. Here is a CUTE picture of Miriam holding Edie Rufus (Dad wanted her to be named Rufus, and somehow she got it as a middle name.....)
And finally after a great week in Ohio with my parents we packed up all of our Christmas presents to head home. Luckily we have the Jeep or else we may have had to make a few trips!
We came away with a great load of gifts, highlights included: His and Hers Spyder jackets, waterskiing gloves, Grey's Anatomy Season Two, Under Armour shirts, a steel fire pit, a cherry folding table with a black leather top and chairs, a Citizen watch (b), an Express shirt (l), corn hole boards, a subscription to ESPN magazine, an Oak Coat Tree courtesy of Wagner Woodworking, and much much more. The best part though was spending time with our families and just enjoying one another's company.
Break is officially over. Lee went back to school today, and my classes begin on Thursday. Getting back to real life is a bummer. Good thing I have the Ohio State game tonight to look forward to!
