Christmas Vacation Pt.1

So much has happened in these last few weeks. Where to begin......

Lee was SO ready to be finished with school. They had to go through the Friday before Christmas and it was just a rough week for the kids and for the teachers. We had a Christmas party in his classroom and we may have been overzealous in our "project". Lee wanted the students to make these amazingly cool snowflakes which as you can see are quite intricate.

We had 23 students asking us a million questions. Some of the kids' snowflakes turned out really well. Others were majorly deformed. All in all Lee and I had fun with them, but I think that we will go for something a little less complicated for next year. Like cookies and a movie.........

I made the fireplace!

Lee was so tired by the end of the week that I don't think he could even enjoy the fact that he had two weeks off. It took him a day or two to recover before vacation mode set in.

Friday night (Dec 22) we went to Lee's folks house for Cripe Christmas. There we get to see lots of family and enjoy the fun of having nieces and nephews. We ate, played games, and just caught up with the family. Our nephew Jonathan got an "Armor of God" as a Christmas present.....I snagged an adorable picture of his sister Hope showing it off....

Saturday we packed and got all of our things around, loaded up the Jeep and headed to Juday Christmas (Lee's mom's side of the family). Again, good food, lots of people, and an entertaining game of Apples to Apples. We then spent Saturday night at Lee's folks house and woke up early to have "Christmas" morning with his family. We did stocking stuffers before Church, we all went to church together as a family, then we ate breakfast, and opened gifts.

Then we headed directly from there for Ohio to spend the next week with my family. It was great to be able to celebrate and attend so many of Lee's family functions and still spend Christmas Eve/Christmas morning with my family. This was our first Christmas as a married couple, and since we live near his family and get to see them on a regular basis, it was nice to feel like we didn't miss out on too much with them and still got to be with my family for the holiday. We got to my house in the evening on Christmas Eve. And as family tradition goes, my mother has always purchases a movie for us to open and watch on Christmas Eve. It was always a way to distract two very excited little girls from the anticipation of Christmas morning. The movie this year was Invincible......good flick.

Christmas morning is so much fun. We woke up early, and come down to the beautiful tree and all it's presents. My mom does not put the presents under the tree until after we've went to bed on Christmas Eve, so in the morning when you come down stairs it's always quite breathtaking. As a kid it seemed like the whole room was suddenly FULL of presents. After we'd eaten a fabulous breakfast, Lee and my father decided to go looking for something to do. It's hysterical, my dad has been waiting his whole life to have another male around to stir up trouble. Don't get me wrong, my sister and I hung in with my dad as best we could when it came to being tomboy ish......but man, oh man does he love Lee. Lee has fulfilled his need for a son. They decided to do a little romping in our field. Since there was no snow....they made mud.
Yup. At the Wagner homestead we went mudding on Christmas day. Lee, my sister and I in the Jeep. My mom and dad in his little truck. I am going to post a bunch of these fabulous pictures to end Christmas Vacation Part 1. This was quite possibly the most entertaining time we had while in Ohio. My dad was laughing his deep belly laugh, my mom was cracking up, and Lee had a huge smile on his face the entire time. Good days.
